Roman Catapult

A first attempt at creating a model of a Roman catapult. Designed to be made in school using materials found in school. The tacks could be replaced by drawing pins.

Catapult dimensions:

Base: (30cm long, 10cm wide)
Support arm: (10cm high, 10cm wide)
Firing arm: (20cm long)
Rubber bands: Better to use thinner bands as you can gradually add them 1 at a time to get the right force for your projectile.

For holding the projectile, I’d suggest glueing or nailing/tacking a plastic bottle cap to the end of the firing arm as that’ll allow you to fire larger objects.
